CYBER DOWNTIME CALCULATOR

If sales stop,
what’s at stake?

The systems are down. Payroll is still due. Explore the revenue that could be interrupted, using your own numbers.

A planning exercise, not a loss forecast. Revenue at risk is different from actual loss or an insurance payment.

Make room for
the “what if.”

Enter annual gross revenue and downtime. Then add business, data and control context for relevant planning notes.

No email gate. Your numbers stay in this tab and are never sent to CyberAffirm or an AI provider.

How these numbers work

A simple revenue comparison

Average daily revenue = your annual gross revenue ÷ 365 calendar days. For each scenario, gross revenue at risk = that unrounded daily average × the downtime days you enter.

This assumes revenue is earned evenly through the year and normal sales stop completely for the whole duration. The starting 2, 7 and 21 days are editable examples, not predicted recovery times. You can use parts of a day. The three scenarios are alternatives, not amounts to add together.

For example, $3,650,000 annual revenue ÷ 365 × 2 days = $20,000 gross revenue at risk. Results and the displayed daily average are rounded to the nearest US dollar. Scenario results use the unrounded daily average. Inputs allow two decimal places; the tool accepts $0 to $1 trillion annual revenue and 0 to 365 downtime days.

Revenue at risk is not actual loss

Gross revenue is revenue before expenses, not net profit. Some sales may continue, move to another channel or be recovered later. Expenses may stop or continue during the interruption. Seasonal demand, weekends and actual trading patterns can change the daily amount significantly.

Other pressures are not priced here

Response, restoration, forensics, legal advice, notification and crisis communications may create additional costs. This tool does not estimate them. Payroll, rent and other obligations may continue; they are not added as separate costs in this calculation. Reputation, liability, ransom demands and long-term effects are not valued here.

An insurance conversation comes next

This is not a quote, premium, insurance-limit recommendation or covered-loss calculation. An actual policy may use a different definition of business interruption loss, apply a waiting period, require conditions to be met or exclude an event. CyberAffirm is an insurance agency. Coverage depends on the actual policy’s terms, conditions, limits and exclusions.

Your inputs stay in the browser

Business, data and control answers shape the planning notes, not the revenue arithmetic. Industry prompts are questions to discuss, not assumptions about your business. The calculation runs in this tab. It does not create a CRM record or send your revenue, downtime or results to another service. Reload or choose Clear and start again to remove them. The Resources invitation stores only a seen flag for the current session, not your calculator entries. Optional email links contain no entered values.
